Questions, answered.
- Do your analytics use cookies?
- No. Analytics are cookieless and don't store anything in your visitor's browser, so they don't need a cookie banner. Separately, creator pages set one referral cookie, used only to credit the creator if that visitor later signs up for taplee.link. It plays no part in your analytics.
- How do you count visitors without cookies?
- Each visit gets an anonymous hash made from a daily-changing salt, the page, the visitor's IP address and their browser. The salt is replaced every 24 hours and old ones are deleted, so a visitor can't be followed from one day or one page to the next. We never store the IP address itself.
- What does “unique visitors” mean, then?
- Unique per day. Over a longer range, unique visitors is the sum of each day's uniques, and the dashboard labels it that way.
- What can I see on the Free plan?
- The last 30 days. We collect data for everyone, so if you upgrade to Pro your full history is available immediately.
- How long is data kept?
- Pro keeps raw event data for 13 months and daily totals indefinitely.
- Are bots counted?
- No. Bot traffic is flagged and excluded by default.
- Can I export my numbers?
- Yes. Any table in the analytics dashboard can be exported to CSV.
