Acceptable Use Policy

The rules for what can and can’t go on a taplee.link page, and what happens if they are broken.
The short version
taplee.link is for people to share links, collect enquiries and sell things honestly. Don’t use it to hurt, trick or exploit anyone. This policy is part of our Terms of Service.
What isn’t allowed
You must not use taplee.link, or link to something, to:
- Phish or scam. No pages or links that trick people into giving up passwords, payment details or money, fake shops, fake giveaways, advance-fee or investment scams, or fake login or payment pages.
- Spread malware. No viruses, spyware, ransomware, malicious downloads or links to them, and no attempts to attack or disrupt taplee.link or anyone else.
- Break the law. No illegal content or activity, and nothing that helps others do illegal things.
- Exploit children. Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any sexual content involving minors is banned absolutely. We report it to the authorities.
- Harass or threaten. No harassment, stalking, doxxing, threats, incitement to violence, or hate directed at people because of who they are.
- Impersonate. Don’t pretend to be another person, brand or organisation, or mislead people about who you are or who runs the page. Parody must be clearly labelled.
- Spam. No unsolicited bulk messages, and no use of forms or collected emails in breach of the Spam Act 2003. Don’t create accounts or handles in bulk, or squat on handles to resell them.
- Sell prohibited goods or services. You can’t sell anything that Stripe prohibits or restricts. See Stripe’s prohibited and restricted businesses. We may also refuse items that are illegal in Australia, such as weapons, illicit drugs and stolen goods.
- Infringe intellectual property. Don’t upload, sell or link to content you don’t have the right to share, including pirated software, music, films, courses or counterfeit goods.
- Invade privacy. Don’t collect people’s personal information deceptively or use a form to gather sensitive information (such as card numbers or passwords) that a form should never ask for.
How to report something
Every public taplee.link page has a Report this page link at the bottom. It opens an email to abuse@taplee.link with the page already named. You can also email that address directly. Please include the page address (or handle), what is wrong, and anything that helps us check it, such as screenshots.
We review reports and act on those that break the rules. If you’re in immediate danger, call 000. You can also report scams to Scamwatch (scamwatch.gov.au) and online harms to the eSafety Commissioner (esafety.gov.au).
For copyright or other intellectual property complaints, email the same address with the page address, the work you say is infringed and your contact details.
What we do about it
Depending on how serious the problem is, we may:
- remove or disable content, a link or a product;
- take a page offline or make its handle unavailable;
- suspend or close the account, and end its access to selling and payouts;
- tell Stripe, and report to the police or other authorities where the law or safety calls for it.
We may act without notice for serious or urgent cases, such as phishing, malware or content that harms children. Otherwise we’ll usually tell the account holder what the problem is and give a chance to fix it. No refund is owed for fees on an account closed for breaching this policy, except where the law requires one.
Link checks
When a creator publishes a page, we check the links on it against Google Safe Browsing, a list of websites known to host malware or phishing. A page with a flagged link can’t be published until the link is removed. This catches known-bad links only, so it doesn’t replace your own judgement or ours. Please report anything suspicious.
